NOVEMBER 19, 2014 – Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is pleased to announce that it has again received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual Corporate Equality Index, and has been recognized as one of the country’s “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”
The Human Rights Campaign is the nation’s largest civil rights organization dedicated to LGBT issues. This is the 13th year that the organization has researched and rated large U.S. employers on their policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees.
Among the 40 policies and practices tracked by the Index are: non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Davis Wright’s efforts in satisfying all of the criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
Davis Wright Tremaine has received numerous honors recently for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. These include Gold Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum and designation as one of the country’s 50 Best Law Firms for Women by Working Mother magazine. Earlier this month, DWT associate Paul Southwick and his client Jayce Marcus were honored with an Equity Award from the Equity Foundation of Portland, Ore., for their work to support social, economic, and political equality for the LGBTQ community.
