SEPTEMBER 10, 2014 – The lawyers and staff of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP are extending their gratitude to Carol Bernick, partner-in-charge of the Portland office, for her 25 years of service to the firm.
Bernick has accepted a new position as Chief Executive Officer of the Oregon State Bar’s Professional Liability Fund (PLF), where she will begin October 1. The PLF is the mandatory provider of primary malpractice coverage for Oregon lawyers.

During her years at Davis Wright Tremaine, Bernick achieved successful client outcomes in scores of complex employment cases. She has been inducted as a Fellow into both the Litigation Counsel of America and the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, and has been named one of the Top 25 Women Lawyers in Oregon by Super Lawyers each of the last eight years.
Her numerous honors have included the Peter Perlman Service Award from the Litigation Counsel of America (2013), the Joyce Ann Harpole Award from Lewis & Clark Law School (2006), the Portland Business Journal’s Exceptional Women in Business Award (2003), and the Margaret Sanger Award from Planned Parenthood (2002).
