MAY 23, 2013 – Kelli Sager and Alonzo Wickers IV, partners in the Los Angeles office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, have been named to The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of "the top 100 entertainment attorneys in America." This is Wickers’ third year on the "Power Lawyers" list. Sager has been recognized every year since the inaugural list in 2007.

The "Power Lawyers" were honored at a breakfast yesterday in Beverly Hills.

The publication cited Sager's "clear victory" this past year representing A&E Television Networks in a high-profile suit alleging that an episode of the reality series "Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp" had violated the publicity rights of a bar patron who appeared in the episode. Sager won dismissal of the case, and more than $65,000 in attorneys' fees for her client. The publication also took note of Sager’s ongoing defense of NBCUniversal in a theft-of-ideas case.

Wickers was called "a go-to lawyer" for companies producing provocative content that skates "close to the legal edge." The publication specifically cited his successful defense of the Comedy Central show "South Park" in a copyright suit over the show’s parody of the viral video "What What in the Butt." The magazine also called Wickers "a leading legal advocate for ensuring that game producers enjoy the same First Amendment protections as music, film, and TV creators."
