NOVEMBER 14, 2016 – Davis Wright Tremaine’s commitment to finding new and better ways to serve our clients has been recognized for the second time this year by the Financial Times, which has shortlisted the firm for its Innovative Lawyers Awards North America 2016. Final rankings will be announced at an awards ceremony December 5.

Davis Wright was shortlisted in the “Business of Law” category, which recognizes firms that are diversifying and thinking differently about how they deliver services to clients.

Davis Wright’s innovation initiative is led by DWT De Novo, a cross-functional team of lawyers, technologists, legal solutions architects, and data analysts, who partner with the firm’s attorneys and clients to develop solutions that add new value to the legal function. The team has been particularly effective at improving the management of high volumes of work, delivering cost savings and business insights while relieving administrative burdens on outside counsel.

Earlier this year, Davis Wright was listed alongside the UK law firm Addleshaw Goddard as a top-ranked “Standout” in the European edition of FT’s Innovative Lawyers Report. The firms were recognized for the success of a joint project with Microsoft to create a data-driven, highly efficient, lower-cost model for handling the company’s procurement contracts globally.

The FT Innovative Lawyers Report is one of the top legal rankings in the world and the accompanying awards are widely regarded as among the best researched in the market.
