MAY 7, 2012 – Melissa Slawson, an attorney experienced in government and regulatory affairs, has joined Davis Wright Tremaine LLP as an associate in the firm’s communications group.
Slawson worked previously at the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), most recently as legal advisor for Commissioner Sandoval. Her communications policy experience covers multiple fields, including wireless, wireline, broadband, cable, and broadcast.
Prior to her time at the CPUC, Slawson worked for the office of FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell and was also a law clerk for the National Association of Broadcasters.

Slawson received her Juris Doctor degree from the California Western School of Law, where she was a recipient of the Trustee’s Scholarship for Academic Merit. She received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, graduating magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona.
