| Monique practices real estate, business, energy, and environmental law. She counsels clients in areas pertaining to commercial transactions, renewable energy-related issues, real estate investments and environmental regulatory compliance.
Monique’s overall practice is centered on sustainability. This has led her to find new movements and methods to improve the community and businesses, holding firm to the idea that sustainability is the way of balanced prosperity while being mindful of our precious resources.
In wanting to deepen her understanding of sustainable practices, Monique obtained LEED Accreditation (one of only a few Oregon attorneys listed in the Green Building Certification Institute directory). The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. As a LEED Accredited Professional, she has the knowledge and skills to advise clients on all aspects of sustainable real estate, including advising clients who are interested in “greening” their space, but don’t necessarily have the big corporate budgets. Monique helps businesses large or small wanting to incorporate sustainability into their business practices and to overcome any legal hurdles to do so.
She and her family live in Portland, Ore. They enjoy strolling through neighborhoods, viewing art, listening to live music, eating at fun restaurants, and building PassivHaus.
