| Ronnie London represents clients regarding mass media, advertising and privacy and security matters. This includes advising clients such as broadcasters, cable networks and operators, advertisers and Internet companies in matters before the FCC, FTC and state and federal courts, and on general regulatory compliance. He also provides counsel and strategic advice on a broad range of litigation, administrative, enforcement and legislative matters related to communications, the media and all aspects of direct consumer contact by sellers of goods and services (including telemarketing, commercial faxing, voice broadcasting, text messaging, email and direct mail). Ronnie is the editor of Davis Wright Tremaine's Privacy and Security Law Blog, PrivSecBlog.com. Ronnie's clients include: A&E Television Network, CBS, Charter, Comcast, MTV Networks, Playboy, Showtime, SIRIUS XM Radio, Sundance, IFC, E!, HBO and The Los Angeles Times. Selected Experience CBS Corp. 2008 Represented CBS in a case challenging the FCC's indecency finding and $550,000 forfeiture penalty levied against CBS for the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show featuring Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. (3rd. Cir.) CBS Television Network 2008 Represented CBS Television Network in Fox Television Stations, Inc. v. FCC before the 2nd Circuit and the Supreme Court in a challenge to the FCC’s application of broadcast indecency rules to “fleeting expletives.” (2nd Cir.) 2007 Litigation surrounding the terms of a protective order which would govern disclosure of various internal, company, and client email addresses. Judge awarded defendant's motion to dismiss. Scott Huminski 2006 Pro bono counsel for plaintiff/appellant in a case holding, for the first time by any court, that individual members of the public have a First Amendment right to attend court proceedings. (2nd Cir.) Mainstream Marketing Services 2004 Counsel in litigation challenging the constitutionality of the national "do-not-call" telemarketing regulation. Motion Picture Association of America 2002 Represented the Motion Picture Association of America, the National Association of Broadcasters, and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association in successful challenge to FCC rules imposing mandates for video description of television programming.
