| It is relatively easy for nearly anyone allegedly injured by a product to bring an action for damages. Manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, parts suppliers and contractors all face the prospect of expensive product liability litigation.
Our product liability attorneys have many years of experience guiding companies through the regulatory process, counseling clients on how to avoid litigation and defending companies in product liability cases. We have substantial experience working with regulators at the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Food and Drug Administration. We are cost-effective lawyers who seek the best business outcome, respect budgets and know how to staff your work effectively.
We have defended clients against a variety of claims, including personal injury, wrongful death, commercial loss, property damage, negligence and breach of warranty. We have guided manufacturing clients through the recall process, both voluntary and involuntary, and have served as primary counsel, local counsel, national coordinating counsel and regulatory affairs counsel.
We understand that product liability litigation is often accompanied by regulatory, legislative and media inquiries and that our job is to help protect the company’s operations and reputation in all venues, not just the courtroom. We work collaboratively with your in-house counsel and executives, with co-counsel and consultants in pursuit of the best overall result for the company.
Our experience includes these areas:
- Automotive—airbag nondeployment, ignition fire
- Construction—design defects, building material injuries
- Consumer products—labeling, warnings, warrantees, recalls
- Drugs and medical devices—defective products, wrongful death, involuntary recalls
- Heavy equipment—wrongful death, catastrophic injury
