MARCH 15, 2016 – Three lawyers from Davis Wright Tremaine LLP—Allison Condra, Richard Glick, and Bryan Thompson—were recognized this week as “Top Authors” in JD Supra’s first annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

JD Supra is a leading publisher, distributor, and curator of legal information to the business world, showcasing the work of over 34,000 contributors through its website and daily newsletters. The JD Supra Readers’ Choice Awards recognize the top ten authors—measured by “consistently high readership and engagement” —in each of 26 industries or cross-industry topics.

Ms. Condra, an attorney in our Portland office, was recognized as the #3 author nationwide covering the food and beverage industry. Her article, "Naturally, It’s Only Natural. Or Is It?", was one of the five most-read articles among food and beverage industry professionals on JD Supra in 2015.

Ms. Condra joined Davis Wright Tremaine last year, after receiving her LLM in Agricultural and Food Law from the University of Arkansas School of Law and completing a fellowship at Harvard Law School’s Food Law and Policy Clinic. She concentrates her practice on advising clients about the legal, regulatory, and policy issues facing the food, beverage, and restaurant industries, including food safety issues (especially compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act) and food labeling compliance. She is a regular contributor to the firm’s Food + Bev Law Blog.

Mr. Glick, a partner in our Portland office, was recognized as the #10 author (among more than 1,400 nationwide) covering the utilities sector. His article, "Pacific Northwest Water Wars," was the second most-read article among utilities industry professionals on JD Supra in 2015.

Mr. Glick counsels clients on regulatory compliance, permitting for major infrastructure projects, water rights, water quality permitting and certifications, wetlands, endangered species and environmental impact review. He has received top honors from all the major lawyer-ranking organizations, including being named 2014 "Lawyer of the Year" for Water Law in Portland by "Best Lawyers." He was formerly staff counsel to the California State Water Resources Control Board and deputy city attorney for the city of Portland. He was also the first president of the American College of Environmental Lawyers. He’s a regular contributor to Davis Wright Tremaine’s Energy & Environmental Law Blog.

Mr. Thompson, a lawyer in our Portland office, was recognized as the #8 author among JD Supra readers from the broadcast media industry. He is a prolific writer on privacy and security and has authored or co-authored nearly 50 posts on the subject since February of last year.

Mr. Thompson’s practice focuses on privacy and security compliance issues, with a particular emphasis on state and federal data security and data breach notification requirements and privacy-focused statutory regimes. His work also concentrates on emerging cybersecurity risks and trends, as well as legislative developments and regulatory enforcement matters in the privacy and security space. He is a regular contributor to the firm’s Privacy & Security Law Blog.
