discussion paper

PLA today posts “Trends and Preferences in Consumer Payments: Updates from the Visa Payment Panel Study,” a Philadelphia Fed discussion paper.  The paper presents useful data about, among other things, the importance of rewards programs to the marketing of general purpose cards, as well as changes in the use of store private label cards versus gas cards.  The paper should be considered in the context of the CFPB’s recent request for information in connection with its forthcoming CARD Act report.  We hope you find this post useful, and we look forward to any comments you may have.
