Hollywood v. Universal Pictures
|
|
Defended Universal Studios against an attempt by accused murderer Jesse James Hollywood to enjoin the release of the feature film, 'Alpha Dog," which was inspired by the story of a real-life murder. Arguing that blocking the release of the movie would viola"e the studio's constitutional rights, Davis Wright Tremaine successfully defeated the preliminary injunction motion in December 2006 (and the 9th Circuit subsequently rejected Hollywood's attempt to get an emergency stay), which allowed the film to be released on schedule.
