Bruce E. H. Johnson
Bruce E.H. Johnson, a partner in the Seattle
office of Davis Wright Tremaine, practices in the litigation area
and is experienced at all appellate and trial levels in defamation
and privacy defense, constitutional litigation, intellectual property
disputes and other complex commercial cases.
A member of the Washington State and California
bars, Mr. Johnson has been involved in a number of important First
Amendment cases, including Rhinehart v. Seattle Times, Noriega
v. CNN, Lee v. The Columbian, Auvil v. CBS "60 Minutes,"
and CBS Inc. v. Davis. His recent publications include "Does

Mr. Johnson is chair of the firm's Quality
Assurance Committee and advises on issues of legal ethics and lawyer
liability. He graduated from Harvard University (B.A., magna
cum laude, 1972), Yale University (J.D., 1977), and Cambridge
University (M.A. 1978). A member of Phi Beta Kappa, he is included
among the "Best First Amendment Lawyers" according to Woodward/White's
The Best Lawyers in America and is in Who's Who in America.
Mr. Johnson is immediate past chair of the American Bar Association's
Media Law and Defamation Torts Committee, Tort and Insurance Practice
Section, and president of the Seattle Repertory Theatre.
