Experienced in all areas of motion picture production, development, distribution, financing and acquisitions, and represents television production companies, motion picture studios, cable networks and financiers
Recent efforts include the representation of banks, studios, networks, and completion guarantors in connection with the financing, acquisition and/or production of motion pictures and television series
Regularly retained to:
- Structure, draft and negotiate financing agreements
- Negotiate motion picture and television license agreements, financing and completion bond and ancillary documentation
- Analyze rights issues and draft and negotiate rights agreements
Prior Experience
Partner, Los Angeles/Century City office of Hogan & Hartson L.L.P. Ms. Cohen served as the head of the Entertainment Department of Squadron Ellenoff Plesent & Sheinfeld, LLP until that firm’s merger with Hogan & Hartson in 2002. Previously, she was the founding partner of an entertainment law boutique, following her extensive experience with law firms in New York and Los Angeles and in-house legal and business affairs positions.
Ms. Cohen’s entertainment industry career spans more than 30 years. Prior to her graduation from law school, she worked in various company and general management positions in the legitimate theatre, as an executive of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and with the Motion Picture Association of America.
