Commercial litigation, with an emphasis upon bankruptcy and creditors' rights
Representative Experience
Extensive experience over the past decade on behalf of major lenders and other constituencies in creditors’ rights, collection and other matters in state and federal courts; extensive experience in all phases of bankruptcy litigation and the Chapter 11 process, including representation of diverse interests in several of the national telecommunications, airlines and energy bankruptcies filed during the past few years.
As General Counsel of a Northern Virginia-based technology firm, participated in senior management planning; supervised several corporate finance transactions involving angel and final-stage venture investments; supervised acquisitions; handled litigation matters in-house and supervised outside counsel’s administration of larger litigation and corporate matters; and handled a variety of labor and other routine matters.
Represented several technology companies from founding through funding in all phases of operations, including matters pertaining to corporate governance, employee relations, contracting issues, and all manner of commercial disputes.
Successfully defended major international airline in multijurisdictional antitrust litigation in which over $300 million in damages sought.
Represented major national telecommunications carrier in arbitrations arising under the Telecommunications Act of 1996 involving over $20 million in damages.
