Representative Experience
Regularly counseling employers on a wide range of employment and labor law issues, including termination and other disciplinary decisions, wage and hour issues, leaves of absence questions and developing effective personnel policies and procedures
Successfully and efficiently defending employers in well over a hundred employment related lawsuits on behalf of large and small employers in a broad range of industries
Investigating and resolving claims of harassment and discrimination
Providing training to managers and supervisors on a wide range of employment law topics, including wage and hour issues, leaves of absence, sexual harassment and litigation avoidance
Appellate court practice includes having successfully argued an important civil rights case before the California Supreme Court on behalf of a Fortune 500 company
Prior Experience
Served as a mediator for employment lawsuits in the San Francisco Superior Court Early Settlement Program for many years
Publications and Presentations
Lectures extensively on significant employment law topics, including in employment related programs of the State Bar Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) and the Northern California Human Resources Association. Topics include sexual harassment training, leaves of absence issues, use of temporary staff, and wage and hour issues.
Co-author of DWT's California Employment Law Advisory Bulletins, which address significant legal developments and provide clear and practical guidance for employers
