Real Estate Transactions:
Sale of KOIN Center: Represented the seller of
the KOIN Center in one of the largest real estate transactions in
Portland in 2007; retained by the purchaser to continue his representation
of the KOIN ownership going forward into 2008 on leasing and development
of the planned 100 Columbia building next door. Gene represented
the original developer of this project and has worked on it continuously

205 Corporate Center: Gene represented the seller
of this property to one of Joe Weston’s companies, the current
owner. This property is located just north of the Clackamas ESD
property and is a very similar office building. In the sale of this
building Gene worked with the County and ODOT regarding the completion
of the then new Sunnybrook interchange. This and other legal work
in Clackamas County have given Gene the knowledge and relationships
regarding local governments that often is helpful in the completion
of a purchase and sale transaction.
Riviera Plaza: Gene represented the seller, Louis
Dreyfus Property Group, in the sale of Riviera Plaza to Harsch Investment
Corp. Gene also assisted in the earlier purchase of this building
and the renovation, expansion and leasing of this office building
before it was sold. This is a mixed use building that includes the
Rasmussen Mercedes Benz dealership store in addition to several
floors of office space.
400 SW 6th Avenue: Gene assisted the seller, Louis
Dreyfus Property Group, in the sale of this building to the Felton
company. Gene also assisted in the earlier purchase of this building
and its renovation and leasing prior to its sale. This is a high
rise office tower located in the Portland central business district
and containing several major credit tenants whose leases Gene negotiated
such as the Parsons Brinkerhoff engineering firm.
Multnomah County: Represents the County as outside
legal counsel on sophisticated real estate transactions such as
the aborted effort to purchase the Lincoln Building from Unico and
working on a tunnel easement across the Shorenstein Properties parcel
between two County properties.

Teufel Nursery: Represented the Teufel Nursery
in its sale of approximately 80 acres of former nursery land on
NW Barnes Road Polygon Development as well as work on other land
purchase and sale transactions in progress. Client reference: Larry

J & R Group: Purchase of the Rentrak Building
on Airport way and the development of the Tanasbourne Central Shopping
Center near the Shops at Tanasbourne together with other similar

Sale of ADP Plaza: Represented the seller, Antares
A, Inc., on this project after many years of representation regarding
leasing transactions and the remediation of subsurface petroleum
contamination. This office project near the 405 Freeway and 1st
Avenue was sold to KBS Realty for $33,100,000.

Kruse Woods Corporate Office Park: Represented
developer in land acquisition, permitting, financing, construction,
leasing and sale of a 200-acre suburban class A office campus in
Lake Oswego.
Fountain Plaza project: Represented developer
in three block urban renewal site acquisition, permitting, financing,
construction, leasing and sale of the KOIN Center mixed use building
and the Essex House apartments in the Portland central business
district.
Riverplace mixed use project: Represented developers
in urban renewal site acquisition, structuring, permitting, financing,
construction and sale of a 15-acre mixed use planned community including
a hotel, marina, office building, athletic club, an esplanade of
retail shops and over 400 rental apartments and condominium units
on the riverfront in the Portland central business district.
Mountain Meadow Planned Community: Represented
developer in all aspects of a 31-acre mixed use retirement community
in Ashland named number one retirement community in the west, including
an assisted living facility, approximately 300 condominium and detached
residential units and neighborhood retail as well as extensive common
amenities.
Hemstreet Development projects: Represented owner/developer
in all aspects of the development, financing, construction, leasing
and sales of a diverse real estate portfolio including retail, residential,
office and hotel properties throughout the Pacific Northwest.
