Seattle

In a city famous for business innovation and cultural leadership, Davis Wright Tremaine’s Seattle office has helped some of the premier companies in the region to achieve success. Our firm was founded here in 1908, and we continue to take pride in serving the city’s rich mix of family businesses, global corporations, and ambitious startups.

With more than 200 lawyers, our office serves clients with local, regional, national, and international interests, including Microsoft, Starbucks, Getty Images, Alaska Airlines, Holland America Line, and T-Mobile. We have also had the privilege of providing counsel to many of the city’s oldest and best-known institutions, including The Seattle Times, Virginia Mason Medical Center, the Seattle Art Museum, The Seattle Foundation, Providence Health & Services, the University of Washington, and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

The attorneys in our Seattle office have achieved much of their success by understanding the nature of local businesses and focusing on industries requiring sophisticated legal services. These include communications, construction, energy, financial services, health care, hospitality, Internet and e-commerce, entertainment, media, tax-exempt organizations, and technology.

Many of our Seattle lawyers are routinely distinguished as being among the best in the nation by various sources including Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America.Throughout the Seattle office’s history, we have strived to maintain a highly collegial atmosphere of diverse, interesting, and engaging people. We believe this is what makes our firm a great place to work and spawns creative legal solutions that so often come not from textbooks, but from life experiences and interests.

The Seattle office is particularly well-known for its deep and enduring commitment to community service. Our attorneys serve as officers and members of the boards of some of the city’s leading business, social services, and cultural organizations, including the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Seattle Association, Campaign for Legal Justice/LAW Fund, the Seattle Foundation, and the Museum of Flight.
