Dana Reid is a trusts and estates attorney with 15 years’ experience advising clients on all aspects of estate planning, including business succession and intergenerational planning, and  gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters. Her work also includes charitable planning, with a focus on creating and supporting private foundations, non-profit public charitable organizations, and charitable remainder and lead trusts. Dana’s clients range from business owners and executives, physicians, and dentists to professional athletes, vineyard owners, commercial real estate investors, and software engineers.

Practice Highlights
  • Advises high net worth clients on the tax and non-tax aspects of estate planning, such as federal gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax matters, and Washington state estate tax matters, and dealing with out-of-state property, multigenerational planning, and business succession planning
  • Prepares premarital and postmarital agreements, cohabitation agreements, domestic partnership agreements, and other agreements regarding the status of property
  • Non-charitable and charitable gifts, including the negotiation of substantial endowment and naming gifts to charitable organizations
  • Charitable planning, including the creation of private foundations and supporting organizations, charitable remainder and lead trusts, and providing ongoing representation in operational and governance matters
  • Forms non-profit public charitable organizations and providing representation with respect to operational and governance matters
  • Forms for-profit business entities and providing advice on operational, governance and succession issues and representation in transactions
  • Represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate or trust administration matters and disputes, including probate and non-probate administration and trust interpretation or reformation matters
