| Elizabeth Hodes focuses her practice on employment counseling and litigation. She assists a variety of clients on a wide range of matters, including wrongful discharge, harassment and discrimination claims. She is also experienced in litigating corporate governance, contracts and other disputes. Selected Experience Represents and defends corporations and their principals from claims for breach of contract, unfair trade practices, and piercing the corporate veil. (Ongoing) Represents a variety of employers -- including hospitals and health care providers, hotels, utilities providers, seafood processors, financial services and other service industry companies, and a variety of small businesses -- defending against harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge and other employment-related claims. (Ongoing) Represents clients with trademark and copyright matters and related disputes and litigation. (Ongoing) Successful arbitration defending against constructive discharge and related employment claims and associated efforts to invalidate non-compete agreement. (2011) Successfully defended a major finance investment firm against claims of discrimination/wrongful termination asserted by a former financial adviser, developing and implementing a cost effective defense strategy using a motion for summary judgment to force a favorable mediated settlement. (2010) Representation of Chugach Alaska Corp. in successful pursuit of claims for breach of fiduciary duty against former chairman, including a jury trial and defending appeal to Alaska Supreme Court, resulting in a monetary recovery and a ban on service as director for five years.
