Evelyn Wang represents employers in state and federal courts on matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour class actions, and other employment-related claims. Evelyn also handles employment disputes before federal and state administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

In her counseling practice, Evelyn advises companies on personnel policy and handbook development, compliance with wage and hour laws, and managing state and federal leave laws.

Defend national concessions and entertainment clients in wage and hour class action brought on behalf of concessionaires at various sport arena locations in California alleging they were improperly classified as independent contractors and other claims. (L.A. Cty (Cal.) Super. Ct. Ongoing)

Single-plaintiff employment defense for Kaiser Permanente, Bank of America and others

Defend large companies in health care, financial, entertainment, and hospitality industries in single-plaintiff actions involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, failure to accommodate, and failure to engage in the interactive process. (Ongoing)

Employee v. Charter Communications LLC

Won summary judgment in wrongful termination case involving claims of disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, and retaliation on behalf of fourth-largest cable and internet provider in the U.S.  Employee-plaintiff had dyslexia and was terminated after refusing to return from medical leave.  Court found plaintiff’s complaint failed on all seven claims.  (C.D. Cal. 2013)

Pre-litigation settlement for international hotel chain

Obtained favorable settlement against plaintiff who claimed sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations. (2013)
