Kiko Ochoa focuses on employment litigation involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, unpaid wages, and unfair business practices in both state and federal courts. He also advises companies on litigation avoidance, personnel policy and handbook development, and other employment-related matters. Kiko has additional general litigation experience involving real estate, fraud, consumer protection, health care, environmental law, and white-collar crime.

In addition to his civilian practice, Kiko is an officer in the United States Air Force Reserve, where he serves as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate to the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base.

Weaver v. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., Southern California Permanente Medical Group

Won full defense award after two-week arbitration of case brought by a former partner physician alleging nine causes of action related to his partnership and service as a physician with Southern California Permanente Medical Group. (2013)

California Department of Labor claim for XO Communications

Won complete defense ruling against former employee’s complaint alleging unpaid commissions in an administrative hearing before state labor commissioner. (2012)

Immigration compliance audit for food manufacturing company

Guided client through Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 audit of company records. (2012)

Single-plaintiff discrimination settlements for Bank of America, Countrywide and other clients

Successfully settled single-plaintiff cases alleging race and disability discrimination under the Fair Employment and Housing Act. (2012)
