Rick Ellingsen is a health care regulatory attorney with more than 25 years' experience representing a wide range of institutional and professional health care providers, including health care management companies, health systems, medical groups and IPAs. He provides a broad range of legal services, concentrating on delivery systems, transactions, medico-legal matters and regulatory compliance.

Practice Highlights
  • Counsels clients in areas such as physician self-referral (i.e., the federal Stark Law and its state law counterparts), regulatory compliance and fraud and abuse
  • Assists hospitals, physicians, ancillary service providers, health plans and others in formation and operation of joint ventures and in the development and implementation of compliance programs
  • Assists hospitals, physician groups and multi-hospital organizations in the development of physician hospital organizations, IPAs and other delivery system components
  • Represents hospitals, physicians, IPAs and other physician organizations in the negotiation of professional services contracts, recruitment agreements, and regulatory and compliance issues arising in the context of such negotiations
