| Rick Schroeder centers his financial transactions practice in the representation of lenders and lessors in lease and secured financing transactions. He represents secured lenders and lessors in U.S. and international ship finance transactions; commercial and corporate aircraft leasing and secured financing; and financing transactions in Indian Country, including tribal gaming and on and off reservation tribal economic development financing. He structures several types of financing transactions involving secured loans, true leases, finance leases, and synthetic leases, and project finance. His practice also includes commercial lending transactions as counsel for agent and lenders in direct loans, participations and syndications, interest rate hedge and swap transactions. He has been a frequent CLE speaker on topics ranging from workouts and bankruptcy, ship finance, UCC Article 9, UCC Article 2A leasing and financing Indian tribes. Rick is also a recognized leader in the field of tribal gaming law. Financial services company 2007 Represent agent and participants in $130 million aircraft term and operating loans for heavy lift helicopter operations, with aircraft in Australia, Greece, Korea, Italy and U.S. Commercial airline 2007 Represented foreign airline in negotiation and documentation for pre-delivery financing of six Boeing 737 aircraft and assignment to lenders, negotiations and documentation with CFM engine manufacturer over assignment of engine warranties. Equipment financing company 2006 Represented aircraft lessor in construction financing of two Gulfstream G150 aircraft. On delivery, represented lessor in leasing the two aircraft to major U.S. corporation. Commercial equipment leasing company 2006 Acted as counsel for owner in sale of Boeing 737 under lease to U.S. commercial airline. Commercial airline 2005 Served as local counsel for Australian commercial airline in the pre-delivery financing and delivery of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
