Sarah S. Fallows


Sarah Fallows focuses her practice on the health care industry, regularly advising hospital and provider clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, contracting, regulatory compliance, and general business and operational matters.

As well as counseling clients on corporate issues such as governance and antitrust, she regularly provides guidance on federal and state-specific authorities governing health care providers and the practice of medicine, including Medicare and Medi-Cal, physician self-referral (i.e., the Stark Law), and health information privacy.

Sarah has also handled medical staff credentialing and peer review issues, and revised and drafted governing policies and procedures.

Counseling on Stark Law and anti-kickback statutes

Analyzed complex business arrangements, joint ventures and contracts for compliance with federal and state self-referral and anti-kickback laws on behalf of major hospitals and other health care providers. (Ongoing)

Revised and drafted medical staff rules and regulations and hospital policies and procedures for health providers in California, Alaska, and Hawaii. (Ongoing)

Trained medical staff of statewide health system on credentialing and peer review requirements

Analyzed state laws governing credentialing of allied health professionals, obligations and protections of peer review boards, Joint Commission standards, application of federal laws to medical staff. (Ongoing)

Advised physician groups on corporate governance

Advised physician groups on corporate practice of medicine issues in the context of expanding practices across different states. (2012)
