Tahiya Sultan concentrates her practice on energy and environmental law. She advises on a broad range of transactional and regulatory matters, including rate proceedings, rulemakings, and power purchase agreements. Tahiya has experience at the local, state and federal level, having previously worked at the Marin Municipal Water District, California Public Utilities Commission, and the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Tahiya has a wide range of experience in the California energy and utility world, having previously worked as a litigation associate and represented the City of San Bruno against PG&E in the San Bruno pipeline explosion proceeding and as in-house counsel to the Marin Municipal Water District. She also has experience in CEQA litigation, having represented the city of Sacramento in securing the establishment of the Sacramento Kings' arena and defeating all CEQA challenges brought against the EIR. She has defended campus projects in a variety of land use, CEQA, and zoning matters for the University of California. She is familiar with both the CEQA and NEPA process and has assisted cities in defending against lawsuits involving challenges to project approvals.

Tahiya has a law degree from University of California Hastings College of the Law and an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
