Zana Bugaighis focuses her practice on complex civil litigation. She represents clients from a variety of industries, including telecommunications, financial services, software, and consumer goods. Zana has broad experience representing clients on matters involving complex contract disputes, consumer class actions, corporate litigation, employment litigation, and First Amendment and civil rights. Zana additionally offers the firm’s clients legal experience in U.S. District Court.

Representative Experience

Schmidt et al. v. State of Alaska et al.

Successfully established that a property tax exemption violates the equal protection rights of same-sex domestic partners under Alaska law. Obtained summary judgment against state and municipality. Currently on appeal. (Ongoing)

Eifling v. National City Mortgage et al.

Motion to dismiss granted in action to prevent foreclosure. (2011)

Meyer v. National wireless carrier

Successfully compelled arbitration of a putative consumer class action. (2011)

The Laura Scudder's Company, LLC v. Snack Alliance, Inc. et al.

Represented Shearer's Foods, Inc and Snack Alliance, Inc in a California trademark licensing dispute. Obtained settlement. (2011)
