| Gillian Murphy centers her practice on employment litigation and counseling. With an emphasis on the restaurant and hotel industry, Gillian has helped employers of all sizes successfully defend against a range of allegations including race discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims. Gillian also provides valuable counseling services, including helping employers navigate through the numerous leave law requirements and ensuring personnel policies and handbooks are up-to-date and effective. Selected Experience Successfully moved the court to uphold a disputed arbitration agreement in a leave law and gender discrimination dispute. (Ongoing) Successfully obtained full judgment for employer at arbitration against employee's extensive sexual harassment and retaliation claims. (2010) Summary judgment granted to our client on all claims in a sexual harassment and retaliation case. (2009) Successfully defeated six related EEOC charges alleging race and national origin discrimination. (2007) Represented volunteer foster child advocate during a two-week bench trial that included multiple witnesses and difficult evidentiary issues. Obtained desired verdict.
