Health Care Purchasing Alliances
With the failure of national health reform, many public and private purchasers of health coverage have established cooperative organizations that seek to obtain payer premium or provider rate discounts for the benefit of the employees and dependents they represent. Such purchasing alliances include the public employee retirement systems of certain states and, increasingly, groups of large employers organized on a regional basis. These organizations have successfully negotiated substantial premium and rate discounts in many markets across the country.
The firm represents major health care purchasing alliances with

representation includes counseling on the availability of tax-exempt
status for certain alliance activities, and the applicability of
the antitrust laws to alliance negotiations with payers and providers.
