Connecting for Health Issues Recommendations for Health Information Sharing

Connecting for Health, a public-private collaborative sponsored by the Markle Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, released a report April 6, 2006: Common Framework—Resources for Implementing Private and Secure Health Information Exchange. Experts in information technology, privacy, and health policy established 16 recommended technical and policy components intended to facilitate the adoption of inter-connected health information. The report contains a Model Contract for Health Information Exchange, authored by Gerry Hinkley and Allen Briskin.
