Overview
Davis
Wright Tremaine represents Japanese businesses engaged in banking,
real estate investment, fishing and high technology operations in
the United States. Clients include two of the largest fishing enterprises
in Japan and many other fishing entities forming joint ventures with
the U.S. fishing industry. Our real estate practice group helps investment
and development companies seeking to locate, acquire and construct
major office and retail centers. We also counsel Japanese computer
software and high technology companies, a growing presence on the
West Coast.
In consultation with attorneys from Japan,
DWT can provide a variety of legal services to U.S. companies with
offices in Japan or those working to gain a foothold in Japan. We
work with many of our U.S. based clients to establish joint venture
operations and distributorships in Japan. In addition to Japanese-speaking
American staff, we have a visiting lawyer from Japan as part of
our foreign lawyer program.
