Represented the seller of the KOIN Center in one of the largest real estate transactions in Portland in 2007; retained by the purchaser to continue representation of the KOIN ownership on leasing and development of the planned 100 Columbia building next door. Gene represented the original developer of this project and has worked on it continuously for almost 25 years.

Represented J & R Group in the purchase of Rentrak office building and renovation, and conversion of 100,000-square-foot cereal mill to create the Olympic Mills Commerce Center in the Portland central eastside district, and in capital restructuring including new market and historic tax credits.

Represented the purchaser of interests (held through a private REIT) in the UBS North American headquarters building on Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan and prospective of another high-rise office and retail building on Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, with gross asset values of more than $2 billion.

Represented a sovereign wealth fund in its acquisition of a controlling interest and sale of minority interests in joint ventures owning and operating Tysons Corner Center, a two million-square-foot mall in Fairfax County, and adjacent retail and office properties, and purchase of a 50% interest in The Shops at North Bridge, a 550,000-square-foot retail center on the “Magnificent Mile” of North Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
