JULY 22, 2015 – Camilo Echavarria and Jimmy Nguyen, partners in the Los Angeles office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, have been named to Diversity MBA magazine’s 2015 list of "Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leaders."

The awards recognize "talented professionals who have made a tremendous impact on leadership in their companies and communities."

Echavarria, Nguyen, and the other honorees will be celebrated at an awards ceremony in September in Oak Brook, IL.

Echavarria defends large corporations in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff and class action cases involving wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour issues. He also handles complex business and entertainment litigation for financial, retail, health care, and media clients. His two decades of experience includes over three years as in-house counsel for NBC Universal. Last year he was named one of the Top 75 Employment Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal.

Echavarria serves on the board of directors of the California Minority Counsel Program, is a member of the board of trustees for the Mexican American Bar Foundation, and is the Southern California regional president for the Hispanic National Bar Association.

Nguyen handles litigation, transactions, and counseling work involving intellectual property, entertainment, digital media, advertising, privacy, and technology matters. He is especially versed with issues for online, social media, mobile, and other digital technologies. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US, and technology advisor.

Nguyen is a prolific speaker, writer, and media commentator on IP, digital technology, and diversity topics. He has chaired the State Bar of California’s IP Law Section and co-chaired the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s IP, Internet & New Media section. In 2010 he was named one of the Top 20 Lawyers Under 40 in California by the Daily Journal and one of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 by the National LGBT Bar Association.

Nguyen also founded the DiverseStory Project, an online diversity campaign, and is a creative producer of the "it gets better" touring musical theater show to stop bullying of LGBT youth. In 2012, The Huffington Post listed Nguyen as one of the “Most Influential LGBT Asian Icons."

Nguyen was also recently named to the Diversity Leader Hall of Fame by the California Minority Counsel Program, whose executive committee he served on for almost a decade.
