FEBRUARY 26, 2019 – Jenna Mooney, chair of the Portland employment practice group at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, has been named to the 2019 class of "Women of Influence" by the Portland Business Journal.

The "Women of Influence" awards, now in their 16th year, recognize women "who are making an impact, cultivating change, and bringing the community together." Nominees are judged on their professional accomplishments as well as their community leadership. Jenna and the other winners will be honored at a gala event in April.

With an eye on each client's unique goals and culture, Jenna helps companies and organizations proactively manage their employees to ensure legal compliance and a productive, healthy workplace. She also serves as a litigator in situations where a lawsuit or agency charge cannot be avoided. Her many clients include The Oregon Clinic, Lanphere Auto Group, Bank of America, and Whole Foods Markets.

Jenna's numerous accolades include being named one of "America's Leading Lawyers for Business" in Labor & Employment (Oregon) by Chambers USA each of the past eight years. She has also been listed in "Best Lawyers in America" since 2014 and in "Oregon Super Lawyers" since 2013. Jenna was honored with a 2014 "Flex Success" award by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance, which honors attorneys who are flourishing while working flexible schedules.

"Jenna was recognized as a star from the moment she joined our firm as an associate 20 years ago," said Bill Miner, Portland partner-in-charge for Davis Wright Tremaine. "She's admired by clients and colleagues alike for her outstanding legal insight and sensitive, empathetic nature. We could not be more thrilled to have her serving our clients and community."

Jenna is a dedicated advocate for improving the lives of children in the Portland metropolitan area. For the past decade she has served on the board of directors for Friends of the Children – Portland (FOTC), which connects vulnerable children with a professional mentor to provide guidance and support. She is currently the board chair.

Jenna has served as FOTC's pro bono employment lawyer and coordinates additional pro bono services for the organization, as well as leveraging her professional and personal network to secure financial support. The Business Journal has named FOTC Oregon's Most Admired nonprofit each of the past four years.

"Jenna Mooney has played an integral role in strengthening our mission to break the cycle of generational poverty," said Pietro Ferrari, FOTC-Portland's executive director, in a letter of recommendation for Jenna. "She has been a witness and active participant in changing the lives of youth in our community, especially those most in need of a Friend. Jenna brings authenticity and integrity to everything she does and has been a wonderful role model for all of us. While Jenna takes her commitment to service seriously and generously offers her intellect and strategic thinking, she also brings her warmth and wit to every gathering."

Jenna's other community activities include serving as a committee member for the Multnomah Bar Association's CourtCare fundraising campaign since 2007, helping secure thousands of dollars to help parents with childcare while they attend court appearances.

Jenna received her B.A. from UCLA and her J.D. from University of Oregon Law School.
