JULY 7, 2014 – Mike Reiss, a partner in the Seattle office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, has been named to the Most Powerful Employment Attorneys Hall of Fame by Human Resource Executive magazine and the legal networking site Lawdragon.
Only ten attorneys nationwide were named to the list, which debuted last year.
Consideration for the Hall of Fame status “begins with 35 years in the employment law trenches,” according to the magazine, “and requires consistent recognition for all-around excellence in counseling clients, contributing to the bar, and serving as a visionary to improve workplaces.”

Reiss has successfully tried more than a dozen discrimination and wage and hour cases, including three class action trials. His clients have included Bank of America, Alaska Airlines, AT&T, Providence Medical System, and the Seattle Seahawks. His successful defense of Boeing in a nationwide racial discrimination class action jury trial (Williams v. The Boeing Company) was recognized by The National Law Journal as a top 10 defense win of the year.
Reiss currently serves on the board of directors for the American Employment Law Council (AELC), an invitation-only organization limited to the nation’s top labor and employment attorneys and in-house counsel. He has written and presented extensively on employment law and litigation topics for the AELC, as well as for the American Bar Association, the National Employment Law Institute, and similar organizations. He has taught trial advocacy at the University of Washington School of Law since 1980.
Mike received his B.A. from Harvard College and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
