It looks like many of the changes brought on by the pandemic and the events of the past three years are here to stay. The CenterForce Driving Diversity in Law Series 2023 will continue to explore this "new normal" and the effect (both positive and negative) it is having on the career paths of women and other underrepresented professionals in legal and Corporate America. Clearly, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives have become an imperative. Further, DEI is no longer being defined as a gender issue or a race issue, but rather, as a people issue. In order to truly foster change, we need to get all stakeholders in the room. Therefore, all genders and allies are welcome!

DWT partner Sharon O'Shaughnessy will join the panel "Sponsorship, Change Agents & Allies."  Because creating and maintaining a diverse workforce is no longer a gesture of goodwill, but essential to organizational growth, finding ways to foster diversity in the workplace is imperative. This is where leadership is most needed: by using privilege for the greater good, by paying it forward through sponsorship, and by offering mentoring and coaching where appropriate.

This panel will explore:

  • What true allyship means
  • Sponsorship programs and relationships that work
  • Making the most of mentors and coaches
