Form 481 Filing Deadline Extended to October 31 for FCC
Yesterday evening, the FCC released a Public Notice announcing revised deadlines for FCC filings that were affected by the partial shutdown of the federal government, which lasted from October 1 through October 16. The Commission announced that the filing date of most filings due between October 7 and October 16 are now due 16 days after their original filing deadline.
As a result, the FCC Form 481, which was originally due to be filed with the FCC by all Lifeline service providers on October 15, now is due by Thursday, October 31. Of course, carriers may file in advance of the deadline.
The Form 481′s October 15 due date was not extended for filings with USAC or state commisssions, which remained open during the federal shutdown.
The Form 481 instructions indicate that carriers may file with the FCC by paper or via its Electronic Comment Filing System ("ECFS") and must reference WC Docket No. 10-90. Please contact us for more details.
