Richard M. Glick
Partner
Rick Glick helps clients navigate the labyrinth of federal and state environmental permitting processes for major infrastructure projects. He counsels clients that the shortest path to long-term success usually correlates with the smallest environmental footprint. With that approach he has built trust among the agencies and NGOs, which has often led to favorable settlements that allow the project to move forward. Rick’s emphasis is on creative administrative and legislative solutions as better alternatives to litigation.
Rick uses an approach that prioritizes interest-based negotiations in defense of enforcement actions and in resolution of state and federal Superfund matters involving environmental cleanup liability. Rick also helps clients avoid costly setbacks from the start through environmental due diligence in transactional settings, including wetlands review. Where water supply is a driver of value in a transaction, Rick performs water rights auditing.
Rick has represented public and privately owned electric utilities, municipal water providers, and industrial companies. He advises clients under the Clean Water Act, CERCLA, Endangered Species Act, NEPA, and state analogs.
