George Mardikes focuses exclusively on governmental finance, including state and local government lease-purchase financing, both taxable and tax-exempt; federal leasing; tax-exempt conduit financing for 501(c)(3) entities; general and limited tax obligation bonds; tax leases to federal agencies, as well as state and local governments; letter of credit transactions; and qualified zone academy bonds and special assessment bonds. He has structured financings that included assets such as construction of real property, equipment, software, prepaid maintenance, wind turbines, vessels, rail cars and engines, LED lighting projects, aircraft, and energy retrofit.

George is a frequent speaker at seminars on the subject of governmental leasing on the national level.

Wrote the book

Wrote the book on governmental leasing back in 1986, and serves as project coordinator for the continued update and maintenance of the book, which covers the authority of counties, municipalities, school districts, fire districts, health districts, states, and state higher-education entities throughout the United States to lease purchase property.

Broad expertise

Experience throughout the United States with a variety of lenders, a variety of projects, and a variety of structures has provided insight into a variety of solutions to problems that arise in transactions, fueling creativity in finding solutions to achieve clients’ objectives and the needs of the governmental borrower.
