Monica Molina helps renewable energy companies bring to scale the next generation of our nation's clean energy infrastructure by navigating them through complex regulatory issues involving federal, state, and local agencies. Drawing on past roles at an independent power producer and in climate policy, in combination with her legal expertise, Monica is uniquely situated to help clients navigate the energy sector's dynamic business and legal landscape.
When disputes with regulators and private entities do arise, Monica applies her experience in negotiation and litigation to help her clients achieve favorable outcomes so they can focus on bringing their renewable energy projects to fruition. Her practice further includes working collaboratively with her clients to advocate policy positions unique to their industry.
Monica is experienced with advising renewable energy developers on the environmental aspects of their transactions, drafting permitting opinions, and conducting due diligence for projects totaling several hundred megawatts. She is also familiar with a range of environmental statutes, including the California Environmental Quality Act; Forest Practice Act; Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act; Clean Water Act; National Environmental Protection Act; and the federal Endangered Species Act.
