Chris Petersen

Chris Petersen is a member of the firm's employment services group. Chris regularly counsels employers on a variety of employment matters, including drafting all manner of policies and best practices for California employers. He also has extensive litigation experience, focusing on representing employers in labor and employment matters, especially wage-and-hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative actions.

Enforced arbitration
Successfully enforced employee arbitration agreements in a series of cases across the country against a major accounting firm, culminating in a landmark U.S. Supreme Court victory affirming the validity of class-action waivers.
PAGA claims dismissal
Obtained dismissal of PAGA claims and defeated class certification in an employee misclassification case for a nationally restaurant chain.
Partial summary judgement
Obtained partial summary judgment on wage-and-hour claims in a class and representative action for the largest national chain of veterinary clinics, and defeated class certification.
