Laura Turczanski
Associate
Laura Turczanski helps employers of all sizes by providing guidance on workplace situations (before they become legal claims) and by defending employers facing litigation. As a former HR professional, Laura knows that clients want practical advice and answers. She helps her clients understand the legal risks of a decision in a straightforward way so they can focus on supporting their business.
Laura’s litigation practice focuses on defending employers in single-plaintiff litigation and in connection with charges filed with federal and state civil rights agencies. Laura’s counseling practice involves advising employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including employee handbooks, leave laws, terminations, reasonable accommodations, and employment agreements. Laura also regularly advises employers and speaks about pay equity laws.
Laura also provides guidance to employers on compliance with the City of Seattle Labor Standards Ordinances, including minimum wage, paid sick leave, and secure scheduling. In addition to her employment litigation and counseling practice, Laura also provides support for employers engaged in labor arbitration and disputes.
