The goal of WiN is to build the preeminent community for women directors, in-house counsel, and management of nonprofit organizations in New York City and Washington, D.C.

The nonprofit world has led the way with women in the C-Suite and women on their boards. In these leadership roles, women at nonprofit organizations have changed lives, impacted communities and tackled some of the most difficult issues of our time. WiN, our women in nonprofit network, brings together this remarkable community of women leaders to make connections, share their wisdom and inspire one another.

WiN Leadership: J.J. Leitner and Alison Schary

Some memorable moments from our New York and Washington D.C. networks include:
  • A fireside chat on being an agent of change with Carol Robles-Román, President and CEO of Legal Momentum, The Women's Legal Defense & Education Fund, which focuses on advancing the rights of women and girls.
  • Insights on the continuing challenge to preserve Roe v. Wade from Kathryn Kolbert, Director of the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College, who represented Planned Parenthood before the U.S. Supreme Court in Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
  • A discussion of the imperative for more women and girls in STEM with Jessica Lawrence Quinn, then CEO of the New York Tech Alliance, and Joanna Geraghty, President of the JetBlue Foundation.
  • Exploring how to tackle the homeless problem in Washington D.C. and around the country with Patty Mullahy Fugere, co-founder and Executive Director of the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless.
  • Discussing the ripple effect impact investing can make around the world with Alix Lebec of Water.org, which provides microfinance to provide water, sanitation and hygiene in developing countries.
