Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and John Kennedy (R-La.) on Tuesday introduced a bipartisan internet privacy bill intended to give users more control over what websites can do with their data.

Per HealthITSecurity.com: “Under legislation introduced in January and signed into law by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey earlier this month, information about an individual's medical or mental health treatment or diagnosis by a healthcare professional is now considered ‘personal information’.”

Senate Confirms 5 Nominees To FTC, Including Chair

As reported in Law360 this week, “The U.S. Senate confirmed five nominees to the Federal Trade Commission on Thursday, providing reinforcement to the depleted commission. Republican Joseph Simons will become the new FTC chairman, and Republicans Noah Joshua Phillips and Christine Wilson and Democrats Rebecca Kelly Slaughter and Rohit Chopra were all confirmed as commissioners.
