JAN. 3, 2022 – Davis Wright Tremaine is one of just 20 law firms nationwide to be recognized as an Inclusion Champion by Diversity Lab.
The inaugural Inclusion Champion program honors firms that have met target thresholds for diversity representation, show year-over-year progress, and are tracking to ensure their underrepresented lawyers have fair and equal access to quality work, influential sponsors, and other opportunities.
Diversity Lab measures these factors at both the firm and practice group level. Davis Wright was specifically recognized for the strong performance of its Entertainment and Employment Services groups.
Champions not only had to show strong results in 2021 but also commit to implementing at least one "Do Something Hard" action in 2022. Davis Wright chose to make 50 Hours of billable credit available to attorneys for making meaningful contributions to DEI.
Examples of these contributions include taking a leadership role in firm DEI efforts; leading affinity or inclusion groups; taking a leadership role in diverse bar or other trade organizations; sponsoring and mentoring diverse lawyers; and partnering with clients on DEI efforts. The firm will also track and measure whether those hours are being spent equally across demographic populations and take steps to remedy any imbalance.
