Amy Ocean works in the firm's technology, communications, and privacy and security group. Specializing in technology transactions, Amy provides clients with practical advice on protecting their assets and bringing new products to market. Prior to joining DWT, Amy was a law clerk assisting on business, intellectual property, and privacy matters for the Washington Attorney General's UW Division, and she previously interned at the Washington State Department of Commerce, where she analyzed state and federal legislation for impacts on Washington's defense sector.
A former global studies research fellow and U.S. State Department intern with several years of experience in the nonprofit space, Amy brings a fresh, global perspective to her practice. She also has experience in international sales as a communications liaison between business stakeholders and distributors. She graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Law with an IP concentration, served as online editor of the Washington Law Review, and taught a class in microeconomics.
