Brent also assists his clients with structuring joint ventures for the provision of ancillary services, service line co-management, and other collaborative endeavors.

Brent's areas of focus include:

  • Represented a health system in developing an accountable care network product to serve the state of Washington's public employee population
  • Works with state and federal regulatory bodies on behalf of a broad range of clients
  • Representing a large employer in contracting with an accountable care organization to serve its employees

  • Represented a multispecialty medical group in its affiliation with a nonprofit hospital system

Practice Highlights

Hospital-physician relationships

Helping hospital systems and physician groups work more closely and effectively, from the ordinary (a hospital's employing physicians) to the unusual (a hospital's acquiring majority ownership of a multispecialty medical group) and everything in between (joint ventures, co-management agreements, professional services agreements, bundled payment programs, etc.).

New healthcare services

Bringing new treatment modalities to hospitals and physician practices through collaborations with providers of equipment and support services for stereotactic radiosurgery, in-office radiation therapy, intraoperative neuromonitoring, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Navigating the perilous waters of the corporate practice of medicine doctrine to help nonprofit and for-profit entities employ, directly or indirectly, physicians, veterinarians, and other licensed healthcare providers without violating state law.
