SAN FRANCISCO, JAN. 4, 2012 – Jeffrey P. Gray is the new partner-in-charge of the San Francisco office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP (DWT). He succeeds Martin L. Fineman, who served in the position since 1999. Fineman will resume his full-time litigation practice.
"Martin has led the growth of a terrific office and I look forward to building on what he has done," said Gray. "The firm had another strong year in 2011, is in solid financial shape, and has aggressive plans for growth in key areas. San Francisco will be an important part of that, and the whole team here is ready to go."
DWT is known for its strong national practices representing regulated industries, including energy, media, communications, health care, financial services and hospitality, as well as highly-regarded employment and litigation practices. In San Francisco and elsewhere, the firm will continue to focus on expanding those areas of strength.
"Martin served the firm and the San Francisco office wonderfully for a dozen years, and he deserves an opportunity to return to a primary focus on his litigation practice," said Dave Baca, the firm’s managing partner. "He will continue to be a great resource as we build on the foundation he has established."
In addition to heading the San Francisco office, Gray will continue his practice with DWT’s energy group, advising clients on regulatory matters related to power procurement, renewable energy, climate change and transmission-related issues. Additionally, Gray is a member of the firm’s executive committee.

Gray received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco, School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in history from California Polytechnic State University. He is a member of the State Bar of California and District of Columbia.
Additionally, Gray is on the Board of Directors for the Power Association of Northern California and has frequently been recognized by Chambers USA for his energy regulatory and litigation work.
