NOVEMBER 1, 2013 – Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has been named “Law Firm of the Year” in two practice areas—First Amendment Litigation and Copyright Law—by the magazine U.S. News and the respected survey organization Best Lawyers.
Davis Wright was chosen for the honors based on factors that include strong performance on surveys of the firm’s clients, as well as the high regard that lawyers in other firms in the same practice areas have for the firm. Only one law firm in the country is honored as “Law Firm of the Year” for each of Best Lawyers’ nationally ranked practice areas.
Earlier this year, the Media team at Davis Wright received the 2013 Award for Excellence from Chambers USA, a national honor designating Davis Wright as the firm that “has excelled above all others” in this practice area.
In addition to being honored in First Amendment Litigation and Copyright Law, Davis Wright was given a national first-tier ranking by U.S. News and Best Lawyers in 12 other practice areas, including: Communications; Copyright; Entertainment – Motion Pictures & Television; Entertainment – Music; Litigation – First Amendment; Media; and Trademark. In local rankings, Davis Wright was placed in the first tier in 75 practice areas across seven offices.
This is the fourth year that Best Lawyers has partnered with U.S. News to produce the rankings, which are based on extensive surveys of the nation’s leading attorneys. Last year, the firm was given the “Law Firm of the Year” honor for its Communications practice.
