JANUARY 21, 2015 – Bill Miner, partner-in-charge at the Portland, Ore., office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, has been named to the Portland Business Journal’s 2015 Forty Under 40 list.
According to the Journal, the Forty Under 40 honorees “have excelled in their field, shown tremendous leadership, and are committed to the community. The selection of these individuals should be considered a great testament to their efforts and accomplishments.”
The Journal reported receiving over 400 nominations for this year’s list—a record.
Miner was named partner-in-charge of the Portland office last September, at the age of 37. In his decade at the firm, he has won positive outcomes for many Northwest companies and individuals over their disputes. He has particular experience with business torts, real estate, trusts and estates, manufactured home communities, and marinas, and has worked extensively to resolve client issues through pre-litigation counseling and mediation.

A native of Astoria, Ore., Miner received his B.A. from the University of Oregon, where he was president of the student government. He received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. He is the immediate past chair of the Multnomah Bar Association’s Judicial Screening Committee and a member of the Oregon Uniform Trial Court Rules Committee.
Miner’s many public service activities include regular volunteer work at St. Andrew Legal Clinic and serving as president of Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger. As a member of the Multnomah County Young Lawyers Pro Bono Committee, he helped create the Outside/In Legal Clinic, which serves Portland's homeless youth.
In 2011, Miner received the Multnomah Bar Association’s Pro Bono Award of Merit. That same year he was honored with Davis Wright Tremaine’s Heart of Justice Award, presented each year to an associate who has exhibited exceptional pro bono commitment and performance.
