MARCH 9, 2016 – Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has once again been named one of Oregon’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Oregon Business magazine—the firm’s tenth appearance on the list—and has also been inducted into the magazine’s Hall of Fame.
The honor was announced last week at a gala event at the Oregon Convention Center.
“When people feel happy, appreciated, and fulfilled at work, they deliver outstanding client service,” said Bill Miner, the firm’s Portland partner-in-charge, who joined the other Hall of Fame award-winners onstage. “We strive every day to create the best possible environment for our lawyers and staff to do excellent work and we are thrilled to have that commitment recognized with this award.”
The Oregon Business ranking is based on a detailed assessment of employee benefits, as well as an employee survey. In order for a large company to be eligible for the “100 Best Companies” list, at least 10% of its Oregon workforce must complete the survey.
Based on the results from that survey, the magazine described Davis Wright Tremaine as “an outstanding law firm [that] gets high marks as a workplace. The hierarchy found at many law firms that separates staff and lawyers doesn’t exist here, they say. ‘I am supported in all professional endeavors—the sky is the limit. It is a fun and inspiring place to work.’”
Firmwide, Davis Wright Tremaine has received numerous accolades for its workplace policies and practices in the past year. These include:
- A perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual Corporate Equality Index, recognizing the firm as one of the country’s "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality."
- Inclusion in the 2015 list of the country’s “Best Law Firms for Women” by Working Mother magazine and the consulting firm Flex-Time Lawyers.
- Gold Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, recognizing the significant number of women in top leadership positions at the firm.
